A Dinosaur Day Out

It's easier than you may think to create a memory that your children will never forget.

You don't have to travel the world and you don't need to have lots of money. But you

do need to keep an open mind and let go of being a grown up.

If your kids are anything like the ones I know (age range 3-9), they are fascinated by - if not

obsessed wih - dinosaurs! So you have probably already read tons of books about them, and

your children are most likely better than you when it comes to remembering all the different

names and dinosaur species, even if they are in Latin!

Bring together some different drinks, dinosaur-shaped bisquits and some dinosaur books. Get dressed for a day in the woods and escape to the nearest piece of woodland you can find.

Then sit down under a tree and read about these giant creatures, explain the wonders of the world and how strange it is that once upon a time, these giants were here instead of us.

Hide bits of food (the bisquits) here and there: behind a stone, by a creek and then tell your children you are now dinosaurs. Ask them what kind of dinosaurs they are and spread out (still within sight). And what do dinosaurs do? They hunt for food! They make noises! They growl at each other and they (pretend to) sleep. I promise you, your kids will absolutely love this pretend-play and they will never forget how you were there to play with them.

Of course, it is extra inspiring if you let them wear "dinosaur clothes," check out a wonderful quality T-shirt from Polarn & Pyret by clicking the links below:
